Talks with Transnation
Farming is an important part of our local communities. We have the knowledge, experience and tools to ensure your next land transaction is a successful one.
The Opportunity Zone (OZ) Program was established by Congress to incentivize long-term, private sector investments in low-income communities nationwide. It stimulates reinvestment of capital gains into distressed communities through Qualified Opportunity Funds, also known as QOF, and rewards investors with tax incentives tied to long-term holdings that are connected to Opportunity Zones.
The OZ Program has the potential to be the largest economic development program in the country. The OZ program is an investor incentive – not a tax break to companies. Investments are geared toward new or improved projects or businesses – instead of being based on employee hiring or retention.
Investors like you will ultimately determine how large or small the program will become based on how many investment opportunities they access and innovate and how much capital gain is invested. Opportunity Zone incentives can be layered with or tied to other federal, state, local and private tax, economic development and job development and retention incentives and programs.
