Happy (almost) New Year from your friends at Transnation Title! This year has been quite different than the craziness of 2020-21 and presented its own unique challenges, some of which will continue in the near future.
As we head into 2023, our team has been thinking a lot about how we can be even more intentional about the work that we do. The New Year is a perfect time to reset some habits, routines, and processes in both our work and personal lives.
We recently came across this article from HubSpot on ‘productivity hacks’ to implement for 2023. While it’s not specifically written with real estate professionals in mind, there are plenty of great tips in here that we all can implement.
Here are 10 of our favorite tips to boost your productivity this coming year:
Exercise in the morning
Thirty minutes of regular physical activity can boost energy overall so if you work out in the morning, there’s a good chance you’ll feel energized all day.
Plan the day ahead of time
Write down a detailed plan of your day including all your tasks in the order you want to complete them. Start with what’s most important and urgent, and then move down from there.
Take regular breaks
Make sure to schedule time to step away from that task list and clear your mind. You’ll return with more focus and determination to get things done.
Set a single goal for the day
Your plan may have several tasks, but make sure you think of one goal you want or need to accomplish for the day.
Don’t be afraid to say no
You won’t be able to get things done if you’re always piling new things on, Don’t be afraid to cut items from your to-do list or push less urgent tasks to a new day.
Wake up early
An early start will give you time to eat a good breakfast, get that workout in, shower and get ready for the day ahead. One caveat, regular sleep is key, too!
Schedule self-care
Burnout will not help with productivity, so you need to care for yourself. Try some activities such as reading or journaling, or go for regular walks away from your devices..
Create deadlines
This will ensure you’re not spending too much time on a task. Deadlines – even if they are just internal – drive focus and action.
Work in short bursts
It’s hard to stay focused on the same thing for a long time. Try the Pomodoro method where you work 25 minutes with 5 minute breaks in between each session, and remember to take those regular breaks.
Avoid multitasking
Only 2.5% of people can multitask effectively. Instead, group similar tasks together and complete them one by one.
